La Résistance
La Résistance is a playful and fearless creative collective that reimagines the way art is created, experienced, and consumed. La Résistance is formed by Lydia Bouchard and Merryn Kritzinger, who surrounded themselves – after over 20 years in the performing arts industry – with a group of seasoned artisans in the fields of performing and digital arts.
Lydia Bouchard
Stage Director and Dramaturge
As inspiring leader and agent of positive change, Lydia has extensive experience in creating and delivering large-scale projects, as well as in leading multidisciplinary groups. With nearly 22 years of experience on stage with renowned companies such as Cirque du Soleil, Ex Machina, Cirque Eloize, Opéra de Montréal, Alberta Ballet, Mirvish and Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Lydia stands out not only for her performances but also for her multiple artistic skills. As a creator, she has choreographed and directed several works with Cirque du Soleil.

Merryn Kritzinger

In addition to a distinguished dance career on stages around the world, Merryn Kritzinger is a creator and leader with great emotional intelligence. She has been making her mark in the industry for many years with her communication and project management skills, notably at Springboard Danse Montréal. Her values of inclusion, non-violent communication, and healthy development of the arts community make her an important voice and agent of positive change in the ecosystems she encounters.
